Dual Citizenship

The United States permits its citizens to maintain a dual-citizenship, meaning they are also a recognized citizen of a foreign nation. However, each country has its own unique laws that govern the eligibility and qualifications to become a citizen or dual-citizen of that country.

Caterina Ranieri Grasso, Esq has both personal and professional experience with the dual-citizenship process, as she is a dual citizen of the United States and Italy. She offers her clients her knowledge and expertise in helping them prepare for their Dual-Citizenship applications. Ms. Grasso can assist with filing for and obtaining court orders to address any family name misspellings or to reconcile any discrepancies, obtaining New York State issued birth, death and marriage certificates as required, assist clients with obtaining apostilles and translations of relevant documents, and order US naturalization document or a "no record" letter from USCIS.

Please note that the New York State Department of Health is authorized to release birth certificates only to those persons named on the birth certificates. If you are not a named person on the subject birth certificate, you must obtain a court order to direct the NYS Department of Health to release it. Our office is experienced in obtaining such orders for dual citizenship purposes.

If you are interested in obtaining your Dual Citizenship, please contact Caterina Grasso, a New York Immigration attorney, for a consultation to assist you in your goals.

Below is a list of all nations that allow for dual-citizenships. Please note that each country has its own regulations regarding dual-citizenship. Simply because a country allows for dual citizenship, even if you are of that nationality, does not guarantee that you will be eligible for a dual-citizenship. For specific information on citizenship, visit each nation's respective Consulate website.
